Chai Latte Cupcakes

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been rained on this past week. I’ve had multiple panics about taking out bags that will fit my umbrella and footwear that won’t get soaked through. Yes October. While I do actually adore this time of year I already find myself ready to curl up a little bit. I decided this week to make something that I really really wanted to actually eat alongside boat loads of tea. Enter chai latte cupcake. I’ve been wanting to make them for a while. Roughly 5 months actually, since my friend Alexia had a ‘Sprinkles’ one in LA. I love a chai latte they slightly paw at your throat and warm your insides which I suppose makes for a good autumn drink. They were super quick to rustle up and I sort of cheated too and used that magical chai powder you add to warm milk to make them. Don’t tell. I added the chai to heated milk and incorporated it into the cake and frosting. They were the right amount of sweet and spicy as I added some extra spices to the mix and sprinkled some on top of the frosting. The only thing I might change when I remake them is make a cream cheese chai frosting. Hells yeah.
