Piped Flower Cupcakes for Annette

If you’ve read my FAQs you will have spotted that this time last year I was working in The Cake Parlour. It was an incredible experience where I learnt more than I could have imagined in three months. Zoe is an incredible teacher and I would not be able to make many of the cakes you see on the blog without the knowledge and skills I learnt while I was there. Now baking for myself, I constantly find myself going back for inspiration from her via her gorgeous books and incredible designs. I was having a cup of tea and reading this book for the 100th time when I re-visited this cake. I loved the painted gold piping on the flowers and knew they would be perfect on top of some upcoming birthday cupcakes for our wonderful friend Annette. I love their oriental vibe and how they kind of looked like little bits of china or broaches. I changed the middle part of the flower and would definitely remake them in different colours in the future. I finished the cupcakes with gold nonpareils to match the flowers. Happy Birthday Annette! xannette_flower_cupcakes_afternoon_crumbs_2annette_flower_cupcakes_afternoon_crumbs_3annette_flower_cupcakes_afternoon_crumbs_4
