Bakes For The Bloggers Market

This weekend Bloggers Liv, Carrie, Lucy, Kristabel and Dunya hosted ‘The Bloggers Market’. Having seen photos of the two previous ones they put on, I jumped at the chance to be involved and offered up my baking services for their event. It looked like such a fun thing to be a part of – lots of clothes shopping, photo snapping and cake! When the girls informed me of the botanical theme I couldn’t wait to dream up some fun bakes to match. I loved their painted look on the event poster so replicated this on a biscuit. I baked some vanilla biscuits which I then piped and flooded with white royal icing. I then used edible pens and paints to hand illustrate each biscuit (there’s a little video of this on my Instagram). To go along with these I made little leaf biscuits, vanilla cupcakes filled with jam that were topped with pale pink buttercream and a hand cut green wafer paper leaf. I also couldn’t resist making a batch of mini Oreo cupcakes as they are my favourite and I wanted everyone to try one! I boxed up a few of the treats for each of the girls to take away, knowing they would be super busy and it would be a nice treat at the end of the day….

The day was filled with treats from Vita Coco and there was more Propercorn than even I could consume. All the girls had some awesome clothes to sell – my sister practically bought her whole holiday wardrobe. Other highlights included the cutest live illustrations from Cirque De Papier and the prettiest room dedicated to Instagram flat lays, chock full of gorgeous Oliver Bonas pieces to play with. It was so great to chat to some of the lovely people that came down and it was brilliant to see everyone enjoying my biscuits and cupcakes and see all their cake snaps.
