Happy 21st Birthday James

In my world I’m lucky enough to have people who might not actually be related to me, but feel like family. The Salmons have been our family friends since forever. I’ve grown up with them and their children James and Amelia, and when James turned 21 (aaaah) this past week I definitely wanted to make him something special. He loves playing cards, poker in particular, so that’s where the inspiration for the design came from. I cut the suits from flower paste and dusted half of them with silver. I went for silver so it would stand out against the chocolate better than black would. It was a chocolate sponge with a chocolate fudge filling covered with dark chocolate ganache. I couldn’t resist putting 21 silver candles on top for him to blow out. Happy Big Birthday James! x
