Happy Birthday Eloise
I’m baaaaaaack. Although I had the best trip and I can’t wait to tell you all about it, it’s nice to be back in the kitchen. While I was away it was my cousin’s birthday. We celebrated with her this weekend and I made her this colourful cake. I was inspired by these adorable cake flags I picked up before my holiday. I was drawn to the colours mixed with the gold highlights. Eloise is not a massive fan of cake but loves macarons (hence this macaron mountain I made her last year) so I chose to make a tiny cake that was topped and surrounded by them. The macarons were raspberry and dusted with gold powder to give them a shine. The cake was vanilla with raspberry jam and for the outside I tried out this technique. It was pretty simple to achieve and I really like the effect and how the sherberty colours blend together. Happy Birthday Eloise x
