Hydrangea Print Cake

It’s August. How did that happen?! This summer is flyyyying by. But it’s ok as it’s been filled with lots of fun things like my friend’s Hen Do which this cake was for. I based the design on the super cool invitations her brother designed for the event, which was in keeping with the floral theme. For the cake I printed the design on to sugar sheets which I ordered from here. I then trimmed them to the height of the cake and wrapped them around attaching them with piping gel, making sure they joined in the right place so the design would be consistent all the way around. This Craftsy tutorial is amazing and shows you clearly how to create this effect. I really loved using a print and the bolder graphicsy look on the cake. I finished it by adding a wafer paper flower in the same colour scheme.
