What do you do in your shop?
We make cupcakes which are available to buy in our shop Thursday to Saturday. We also make cupcakes to order and cakes for birthdays, weddings and other occasions. Plus we make biscuits seasonally in the shop and to order. Everything is handmade by Nicole in the kitchen at our shop.

We also offer cards and gift products especially around seasonal events.
Do you have cakes available to buy in store?
We have cupcakes in the shop on Thursdays and Fridays 12 – 5pm and Saturdays 10am – 1pm ready to buy. We change up the flavours each day and have special flavours available seasonally. You can pop by the shop or see what we have in store and click & collect online to ensure you don’t miss out on your favourites!
If you’d like to order a larger number of cupcakes, a specific flavour or for other days it is best to pre-order. You can order cupcakes online or get in touch for bespoke orders.
Our bigger celebration cakes are all to order, we don’t have these ready to buy in the shop.
How do I order a cake?

You can see examples of cakes on our website but all our cakes are bespoke so if you have any ideas please let us know. How far in advance do I need to order?
Cakes – for our celebration cakes our lead time is usually 3-4 weeks but some dates get booked up quicker than others. It’s always best to give us as much notice as possible but if you’re on a tight schedule do let us know as we will do our best to fit you in if we can.
Cupcakes – for bespoke cupcake orders we usually require at least a week’s notice but as with cakes this can vary. For our standard cupcakes without toppers we usually require 2 working days notice. You can also order our mixed cupcakes or themed cupcake designs online.
Wedding cakes- it’s always best to give us as much notice as possible, most weddings we start discussing around 9 months before, but if the date is getting close do let us know as we will do our best to fit you in if we can.
Do you offer gluten free/vegan/allergy free cakes?
Unless specified all Afternoon Crumbs cakes contain eggs, milk, wheat flour containing gluten, food colouring and are made in a kitchen that handles nuts, peanuts, soya, sulphur dioxide and alcohol. Specific products may also contain other allergens such as soya and nuts.
We do offer cakes that don’t have gluten as an ingredient but these will be made in a kitchen that handles gluten as well as the other mentioned allergens.
We don’t currently offer any vegan cakes.

Do you have a minimum order?
For our standard size cupcakes we have a minimum order of 12 for a single flavour up to a maximum of 4 flavours per order. You can also order boxes with mixed flavours online or click and collect from the daily selection at our our Claygate store.
We have a minimum order of 6 per design for our bespoke cupcake designs. For these the minimum order for a single flavour is 12 or you can order a box of vanilla or chocolate cupcakes or a mixture of both.
Mini cupcakes come in multiples of 8 with a minimum order of 24 per flavour up to a maximum of 4 flavours per order.
We have a minimum order of 24 biscuits and 12 per design.
How do I store my cakes and cupcakes?
Our cakes and cupcakes don’t need to be kept in the fridge (and some decorations don’t like to be in the fridge). Just keep them in a cool dry place until you are ready to eat!
Do you deliver?
Most of our cakes are currently for collection only from our shop at 28 The Parade, Claygate, Surrey, KT10 0NU. The shop is open Thursdays and Fridays 12 – 5pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm.
We have partnered with Gophr to offer local delivery up to 10 miles on pre-order cupcakes. You can read more about this on our delivery page.
For larger tiered cakes over £275 we can offer delivery. Delivery in KT10 – 14 postcodes is complimentary but please enquire for delivery charges for London and further afield.
We haven’t mastered posting cupcakes yet if you live further afield but we do post biscuits when we make them around seasonal occasion and we can also send our cards, wrapping paper and gift products.
Do you offer cake stand hire?
Cake stands can be hired from Afternoon Crumbs with larger cake or cupcake orders. A deposit will be taken which will be refunded on return of the stand. You can find out more in our Ts&Cs.
Are you hiring/do you offer internships?
It’s just Nicole baking at the moment and we’re not looking to hire or offer internships. We always love to chat to aspiring bakers though so do pop in and say hi!
