Bonfire Night

Having been at University in Sussex for three years it’s surprising that I hadn’t been to Lewes Bonfire Night before. Friends had always come back with horror stories and burnt limbs so I wasn’t too sure. But this year I decided to be brave and go. I went with a friend who is a regular attendee so was a pro at navigating the fire filled streets. I’m not going to lie, it was crazy. So much fire in my face. But the scary was nothing compared to how much fun it was! There was a procession with lots of bangers and explosions. Everyone was dressed up, I even spotted a Gandalf and a very unpopular Lance Armstrong. We then went to see the bonfire and fireworks which were amazing. Not wanting to visit my friend in Lewes empty-handed I made these vanilla cupcakes. And of course bonfire night cupcakes wouldn’t have been complete without mini sparklers!
