Oliver Bonas Christmas in July

Oliver_Bonas_01

It’s Chriiiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaas! I know it’s a bit weird looking at Christmas things in the middle of July but it’s totally a thing. Tons of companies have ‘Christmas in July’ where they display all their upcoming festive products on a special press day. I was asked by the lovely ladies at Oliver Bonas to make some biscuit favours for their event last week. They wanted biscuits to match their ombré bauble collection and branded with their alternative logo which you can see here.

I had lots of fun figuring out how to make them – I’d never airbrushed before, but knew this would give the best effect and look most like the baubles. I invested in this airbrush which I think is now one of the best things I’ve bought. It was easy to use with clear instructions. I also used

Biscuits for Betty

Betty_Biscuits_01

I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved making these flowery biscuits for Betty Magazine’s 5th Birthday and new issue launch partaaay. Betty is a super cool independent magazine covering food, fashion and lifestyle. Guys, I want to live in the magazine – it’s filled with THE most gorgeous photos! The theme was #BettyInBloom and the whole place was a photo taking dream. The whitewashed JJ Studios loft space was filled with flowers from Harriet Parry (including a whole flower wall!) dotted with Oliver Bonas furniture and stocked full of Vicky’s Donuts, Koval whisky cocktails and Lapp Cocktail Ice lollies (the peach bellini one was mega). I made these bold vanilla flower biscuits in bright colours including some to match the

My friend Alexia is a floral rockstar. She has created the most stunning floral display for the make up company Cosmetics A La Carte for the ‘Chelsea in Bloom’ competition as part of the Chelsea Flower Show. The theme this year was ‘Carnival’ and she dreamt up these amazing frames which house bright flowers, painted palms and the make up packaging itself bursting with carnations. I love all the colours and the shiny compacts and lipstick cases which catch the light and reflect the colours of the flowers.

I was asked to make some little treats to be offered in the shop all week to match the theme. I made mini Victoria sponge cupcakes in bold colours topped with tiny fondant palm leaves, which I

Joshua Tree House

Joshua_Tree_01

While this is a less sugar-based post from our travels, Joshua Tree was definitely my favourite stop so I had to share some pics from our stay there.

Steve and Alexia had been to Joshua Tree a year earlier and loved it. We wanted to visit too and stay a night in the desert before heading to Coachella.

We managed to find THE BEST Airbnb up in the hills. The house was perfect – it smelt of log fires and had a quirky mix of furniture and decorations like you would find in any Soho House. You can check all the details and more pretty photos here. After being in hotels it was really nice to all hang on a couch and have some lounge space to chat, listen to the extensive vinyl collection, sit by the fire and eat pizza together (not photographed was the Papa John’s we had delivered to what seemed the middle of nowhere!). We got up really early the next morning to
