Palm Trees and Peace Signs Cake

Holly_21_01:2I’m completely in love with this cake. It was an order to celebrate a lovely lady called Holly’s 21st birthday. To design the cake I did a few things. I spoke with her Mum about the kind of party she was having, including colour schemes, invitations and table settings. Stylist Live

Stylist_Live_01I was walking out of the Business Design Centre on Sunday when I turned to my sister and said ‘I’m so happy no one tried to sell me a garlic peeler’. Not that I expected it to be, but Stylist Live wasn’t like any other exhibition show. It was filled with a mix of well-loved brands and cute boutique businesses, inspiring guests and tasty treats.

Stylist Live is basically Stylist Magazine come to life with great talks, fashion and food. My Mum, sister Lauren, friend Shereene and I got there early and within the first few minutes of arriving I had a glass of Prosecco in one hand and a Lindt ball in the other. Not a bad breakfast. Painting Cake

I used to love visiting art shops. During A Level and Art College I would love wandering the aisles of tubes of paint, rainbow pastels, and professional fine liners. I always managed to justify buying more colouring pencils because it came with a student discount. Amongst the little calligraphy section and wooden models of hands used to be these mini easels and canvases that I always used to wonder if anyone actually used. These little structures entered my mind not long ago and then it clicked – they were the right size to sit on top of cake.
